Guruji, Yogacharya Sri B.K.S. Iyengar said that yoga is an adjustable system. By practicing Iyengar yoga with mindfulness and perseverance one can get relief from physical and mental ailments, attain mental tranquility. By diligent practice one can build an able and stable body and carve a path towards spirituality. It is not that just doing asanas (postures) brings the desirable effect. In Iyengar yoga it is known that how asanas are performed (precision & alignment), how long they are performed (timing) and the sequence in which they are performed (sequencing) determines the effect of the asanas. It is a gradual and progressive learning process to understand and experience yoga as an adjustable system. Faith, patience and perseverance are the important elements to navigate through this process.
